My Morning Routine As A Wedding Photographer
Working for myself is such a privilege and honor, but it can be difficult to manage my time effectively. A regular morning routine helps me center myself, physically and mentally, allowing me to step into the best version of myself for the rest of the day! This is a quick rundown of my pre – pregnancy morning routine as a wedding photographer.
Sunlight Exposure
The first thing I to do every morning is get sunlight to my skin and eyes. Sunlight exposure first thing in the morning has numerous benefits including:
• Improved sleep
• Improved immune system function
• Better mood
• Improved hormone levels
Sunlight exposure also helps regulate your circadian rhythm, leading to a healthy increase in cortisol! The hardest part is resisting the urge to look at my phone first thing – try it for a week and you’ll start to notice improvements to your general health!
Hydrate
The next thing I do is drink a glass of water. This helps rehydrate me after sleeping all night, while also helping me avoid a caffeine spike on an empty stomach.
I personally use the Pro One Gravity Water System, as it filters out most pollutants and microplastics!
Daily Walk
At this point, I go on a thirty minute walk outside to increase circulation and to get some steps in before my workday! Even this amount of exercise will make a huge difference in your health if done regularly!
For days that I can’t walk, I use my Under Desk Treadmill while I respond to emails and edit. It’s a convenient way to get extra steps in while I work!
Breakfast + Caffeine
After my walk, I eat breakfast with Stumptown Coffee or Matcha!
I love how easy it is to make espresso with my Breville Espresso Machine! This Casabrew’s Espresso Machine is a great alternative that is more compact and is perfect for those of you that need a caffeine fix in the morning! Both espresso machines also feature a milk frothing wand, essential for making cafe quality lattes!
Stretching + Circulation
After eating breakfast, I do a basic ten minute stretching routine combined with another ten minutes on my Acuupressure Mat to prepare my body for sitting at my desk the rest of the day!
Doing this helps prevent the wear and tear associated with sitting at a desk, I highly recommend everyone give it a try!
Getting Ready for the Day
The last part of my morning routine is getting ready for my office hours. I brush my teeth, wash my face, and get dressed to tackle the workday!
If you’re thinking about creating or revamping your morning routine, try implementing aspects of my routine! Everyone is different, and it may take some experimentation, but finding an optimal morning routine is so worth it!
