When I photograph a session I think about how I'm documenting this season of your lives together and how these photos will be cherished for generations. Saying that I want to document how you two are as a couple. I want your future children to look at these photos and see who you two were at this time in your lives.

With all that said I love having the couples included in the creative process. I like hopping on either a call or zoom and talk about the type of vision and style that you would love to have. We can sit down and create a Pinterest board together and then pick a location and style of outfits that will best fit the overall vibe that you and your partner want.

Getting your photos done is an investment and I want you two to be part of the planning process so we can make sure to create the best possible session. This goes for weddings as well. If you book a wedding package with me, we will do this for your engagement session and wedding!

My main goal for each session it to capture the couple's true essence. I'm a documentary styled photographer, which means that I focus on real moments rather than telling you to stand in a specific way and continuously smile at the camera the entire session.

Although most of my photos are not posed, I do like to take about 2-5 minutes during an hour session to get a few typical poses. The rest of the session is focused on directions that I'll give, allowing me to capture movement as well as your genuine reactions. With that said, I won't ever leave you wondering what to do.

If you're wanting a session with more of the standard posed photos, then I recommend reaching out to a few other photographers as that is not my style.

I make sure my editing is being true to what the day looked like, with a little bit of a nostalgic feel. If you're wedding day/ session is happening during a very bright sunny day, then your photos will have a little bit more of an orange sunny tone to them. If the photos are taken during a cloudy day then they'll have a little more of a blue tint to them.

As a documentary styled photographer, I want you to remember exactly how your day looked. My editing is clean and true to color because I want you to remember how your wedding flowers looked and the color of your decor. Within each gallery I also add in some black and whites (those are my favorites)!

Lastly in terms of photoshop, I do not alter body image. I do edit out any trash or distracting objects that are in the background. I can also edit out any blemishes that could be gone within the next few weeks of your session.
